Air Duct Repair in Philadelphia, PA

Leaking, disconnected and crushed duct wastes air you already paid to heat. We camera the system first, then seal or rebuild only what is losing air.

What air duct repair in Philadelphia actually fixes

  • A room that never gets warm while the furnace runs all day
  • Air you can hear escaping from a seam, a collar or a taped joint
  • A flex run that came loose at the boot, or crushed behind a wall
  • A heating bill that climbed with nothing else changed
  • Torn insulation on duct in an unheated basement or crawlspace

Repair is a different job from air duct cleaning: cleaning takes out what sits inside the duct, repair fixes the duct. In Philadelphia rowhomes it was shoehorned into a tight basement or closet chase decades ago, then patched with tape that let go.

What a duct repair visit includes

We look before we quote, so you pay to fix what we both saw.

Camera inspection first

A small camera travels the ductwork, so the break is found rather than guessed at. Free.

Sealing the leaks

Joints, seams, collars and boots sealed properly, not another wrap of tape over an old failure. The cheapest fix here.

Replacing what cannot be sealed

Crushed, torn and disconnected runs get rebuilt. Metal, flexible and insulated duct each handle differently.

Insulation, boots and registers

Duct crossing an unheated basement or attic gets its insulation back, and loose boots and registers get refitted.

Duct repair across North, Northeast, South and West Philadelphia

Same process, different access problem by neighborhood.

South Philadelphia

Rowhome runs get squeezed through closet chases and dropped ceilings, so reaching the fault is half the job.

North and Northeast Philadelphia

With a full basement the trunk is reachable, and most faults are sealable: open seams, a collar off the trunk, flex off a boot.

West Philadelphia

Where a house was split into apartments, one system often serves floors it was never sized for, so we check the whole run. A building rather than a house is commercial work.

Duct repair questions from Philadelphia

Is it worth repairing ductwork, or should it be replaced?

Sealing plus a few rebuilt sections is the usual answer, not a whole new system. We camera the runs and quote the repair we would do.

How much air does a leaky duct system lose?

Energy Star puts it at about 20 to 30 percent of the air in a typical duct system, lost to leaks, holes and poorly connected ducts. Their page on duct sealing lists the symptoms.

Do you repair ducts, or only clean them?

Both, and they are separate jobs. If the ductwork is sound and simply dirty you want air duct cleaning instead, and we will say so.

Can you find a leak without opening up my walls?

Usually yes. The camera goes in through the registers and returns, which is how we trace crushed runs and loose boots in Philadelphia rowhomes.

Do you repair ducts in my part of Philadelphia?

Yes. We are based in Huntingdon Valley just north of the city and work across Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, north, northeast, south and west. Call (215) 201-4371.
